My Pet Takes Anxiety Medication Prior To An Appointment, Should We Still Administer Them Before The Appointment?

If your pet displays anxious/aggressive behavior at the veterinary hospital and you have been provided sedative/anxiety medications for your pet, please administer them as originally prescribed. This will facilitate the doctors to be able to perform a full physical exam. In some cases, extremely aggressive and/or fearful pets will be prescribed oral medications at the time of the initial evaluation and then re-evaluated at a later time. This is to ensure the safety of your pet and our medical team. We may also recommend injectable sedation at the time of the initial visit - this will not be performed without your explicit approval.
